MJ-5 #133 CF-FQS

Construction:
1978
Moteur / Engine : Lycoming O-360 180 cv / hp - Voltige / Aerobatic

This Sirocco was started by Joe Rezac of Peterborough, Ontario (Canada), who completed about 90% of this sleek MJ-5 Sirocco, but, tragically, was killed flight testing another homebuilt. CF-FQS was then completed by R. L. Smith, Peterborough, Ontario (Canada), who bas flown it some 300 hours to date (Oct. 1988).

Powered by a 195 hp Lycoming O-360-H and a Hartzell CS prop, if cruises at 180 mph at 24 square. Climbs 1000 ftpm and stalls at 60 clean, 55 dirty. Has an electric gear, steerable tailwheel, 3-position flaps. Handles beautifully in flight and on the ground.

Someone brought her in Bolivia where Mr Miguel Antelo bought and rebuilt her. Based at Santa Cruz, registered CP-X2398. With 460 Total Time and 40 hours since major motor overhaul, this plane is on sale for $19,900. Contact Miguel by phone 59133372248.

In October 2004, before selling the plane, the motor had quit on final and causes a hard landing 500 m before the strip of El Trompillo airport. The wing was broken. The pilot and co-pilot walked away with only minor injuries.

Who's gonna tell us where this plane is by now?
