MJ-5 #08 F-PYFF

Construction:
1975-1978
Moteur / Engine : Lycoming O-360 180 cv / hp - Voltige / Aerobatic

Sirocco F-PYFF was built by Jean-Claude Cavagna, from Gard area. She was powered by Lycoming 180 hp with Evra propeller and got retractable gear.

Built between 1975 and 1978, the cell was first started in Savoie (unknown builder), Robin company manufactured the wing spar.

A Sirocco specialist, Mr. Viossa, flew many hours on this plane which was certified for aerobatic.

For an unspecified reason, the plane was crushed Sunday September 9, 1979 in edge of the Uzès-Lussan road near Uzès airfield. The builder and his friend Pierre Vedel were killed on the blow.

The Sirocco performed aerobatics the previous Sunday with Pierre Vedel, forty five years, during the regional RSA fly-in of Montpellier. Pierre, former military pilot and aerobatic qualified, added up 4000 hours of flight. The aircraft was very recent and went to the European RSA fly-in of Brienne le Chateau.

"Considering the quality of the two pilots, no satisfactory explanation was found with this dramatic accident". (Cahiers de RSA #107-108, 08-10/1979, page 2945)
